Nakawa, Kampala Private Hospital
Aga Khan University Hospital, Kampala, located in Nakawa, is a modern private teaching and referral hospital being developed by the Aga Khan University and Aga Khan Development Network. Its Nakawa Specialty Centre, opened in April 2024, currently provides advanced outpatient services including chemotherapy, dialysis, CT scans, mammography, ultrasound, and consultations across specialties such as oncology, pediatrics, and cardiology. The larger hospital, under phased construction on a 60-acre site, will begin with a 150-bed facility by 2026, expanding to 600 beds in later stages. Once complete, it will serve as a world-class teaching hospital for Aga Khan University, combining patient care, specialist training, and research to strengthen Uganda’s healthcare system.
