The Leukemia and GIST Advocacy Fraternity – Uganda
Uganda
The Leukemia and GIST Advocacy Fraternity – Uganda (LGAFU) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals affected by leukemia, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), and other rare cancers in Uganda. Established on July 13, 2012, LGAFU was founded by two chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) patients who, after their own diagnoses, recognized the need for a support system for others facing similar challenges. They realized that CML was not necessarily a death sentence, which inspired them to create an organization to help others who were struggling with the same issue
