The Uganda Non-Communicable Diseases Alliance (UNCDA) is a civil society organization committed to combating non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions in Uganda. Established in 2010, it brings together the Uganda Diabetes Association, Uganda Cancer Society, and Uganda Heart Research Foundation to advocate for effective NCD policies, enhance public awareness, and improve access to prevention and treatment services. UNCDA operates district-level branches across the country, providing screenings, counseling, patient referrals, and supporting the establishment of NCD clinics in rural health facilities. Through collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders, the alliance seeks to strengthen member associations, mobilize resources, promote research, and place NCD prevention and care at the center of Uganda’s national health agenda.
