NCD Alliance East Africa (EANCDA)
Uganda
The NCD Alliance East Africa (EANCDA) is a civil society network that brings together national alliances from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and Zanzibar to fight non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including cancer. It works to empower civil society organizations, patient groups, and community actors to advocate for stronger NCD policies, increase public awareness, and build health system capacity for prevention and care. The Alliance promotes inclusive decision-making in NCD policy processes and helps national alliances coordinate their advocacy and community mobilization efforts. While it does not directly provide clinical services, it plays a critical role in influencing NCD governance, ensuring the voices of cancer patients and survivors are heard in regional health agendas, and supporting awareness and prevention programs.
