The Uganda Cancer Society acts as a national umbrella organization that brings together more than 45 civil society organizations (CSOs) involved in various aspects of cancer control. This network includes NGOs, patient advocacy groups, survivor-led initiatives, and community-based organizations. UCS coordinates their activities to avoid duplication, promotes best practices, builds capacity, and strengthens collective advocacy for better cancer care policies. Through this network, UCS also facilitates awareness campaigns, screenings, palliative care programs, and provides a platform for cancer survivors and patients to voice their needs. It plays a vital role in bridging the gap between government services and community-level action.
