Uganda Cancer Institute – Fred Hutchinson Cancer Alliance (UCI-HCCA)

This is a collaborative cancer research and clinical care network between the Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, USA. The partnership aims to strengthen cancer care and research in Uganda by sharing expertise, conducting joint research (especially on cancers associated with HIV, childhood cancers, and infections), and building local capacity through training and infrastructure development. This alliance has enabled UCI to establish advanced diagnostic and treatment programs, develop a national training hub for oncology professionals, and improve access to cutting-edge cancer therapies. It represents one of the strongest international cancer research partnerships in sub-Saharan Africa.
